My director was a fan of us celebrating Austen's 250th so she let me create a display. For a small rural library, we have more Austen related stuff outside her novels! I'm also including the signage I made which is so hideous but I love it.

Happy holiday weekend! Did you get up early to go shopping today or did you work, like me? (Thankfully, my hours are short so I got to have some holiday cheer.) I'm working again tomorrow (boo) and will work to have a very chill weekend.

With the ramp-up to Jane Austen's 250th birthday, I'll probably go heavy on the Austen quotes for the rest of the year.

Every year, Jane Austen's House celebrates Pride & Prejudice in January to celebrate the publication of the novel (Jan 28, 1813). The festival runs Jan 24-28, 2026.

The 1st day in weeks, I did not need an alarm! Mr. Lisa & I may get pedicures, do meal planning, and some grocery shopping. Sundays are my favorite day of the week as I run a write-in on Sunday and in the afternoons, I hang out with Kristin for a few hours of PBS. What are your plans this weekend?

I did some digging and there are numerous arguments about when the first novel was published (from the 15th C to 18th C) and no one can seemingly agree. But I argue that it is the rise of the popular novel taking place during Jane's time. What do you think? #Austen250
