So, there’s news here? And facts?

And here we are…
Let’s watch what they actually DO, not blindly believe what they SAY they did.

How does the fucking WHIP betray the caucus and minority leader? I mean, isn't that grounds for immediate loss of your post. You are supposed to whip FOR the leader, not against.

“ABC7 spoke to Pertissue Fisher, a woman who lives in the building. She said ICE agents took everyone in the building, including her, and asked questions later….’They was bringing the kids down, too, had them zip tied to each other.’”

It can’t happen here, you say. But it is happening.

SCOTUS’ Shelby County v. Holder decision decimated protections for voters of color.

On the 12th anniversary of this decision, I'm fighting to pass the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to restore and protect voting rights for all.

It’s never the drag queens or trans folks, but quite often it’s a pastor (and his wife).
A pastor and his wife from South Carolina have been arrested for more than 2 dozen charges related to child sex abuse, assault and battery, animal killings, and more.

We identified 2 dozen parolees who entered at ports of entry, another 21 came legally with a CBP One appointment and were immediately detained, 4 refugees who the government determined faced persecution abroad, and one person who entered with a tourist visa.

When I started researching their methods of an entry, I thought finding 4 such cases would be an unbelievable crime and scandal. In the end, it’s apparent that at least four DOZEN were legal immigrants who came with advanced permission. www.cato.org/blog/50-vene...
50+ Venezuelans Imprisoned in El Salvador Came to US Legally, Never Violated Immigration Law

Cato has published my comprehensive review of the ~240 Venezuelans the US government renditioned 2 months ago to Salvador’s notorious prison. We identified FIFTY who came legally, never violated any immigration law, but are imprisoned at the US government’s request and at US taxpayer expense.

In this, the year 2025, the medical industry has come to start to believe ladies might feel pain in their lady parts *and* that they should possibly treat that pain. Imagine if the dude doctors had just listened to the ladies about this.

A major medical group now recommends pain-blocking treatments for IUD insertion and other procedures amid a growing recognition that women's pain should be treated.

The Ag Committee's part of the Reconciliation Bill raises the SNAP work requirement age for able-bodied adults without dependents from 54 to 64. It also changes the definition of "dependent child" from under 18 years to under 7 years old to determine "Able-bodied adult without dependents."

I just met with legal counsel for my constituent, Dr. Badar Khan Suri.

Dr. Suri is a global conflict scholar at Georgetown who was detained without explanation by masked agents outside his Arlington home, then disappeared without due process to a prison 1,300 miles from his wife and children. 1/

A New Mexico judge and his wife have also been arrested, for allegedly hiding a TdA gang member in their home.

Given recent history, it’s probably best to take the “hiding” and “gang member” allegations with a fistful of salt.

So to sum up the Wisconsin arrest issue:

ICE didn't have a juridical warrant. They only had an administrative warrant.

The DOJ has not convened a grand jury to indict the judge. They only got a criminal complaint before a magistrate judge.

This is ridiculous.

My admittedly small kingdom to the strategist that figures out how to fund and make funny, engaging civics education shorts for all ages to explain how America works and what the constitution says during commercial breaks and in ads on the internet.

My friend @jamielynnc.bsky.social and I have discussed this for years now! It isn’t enough for Dems to regain power. They had a trifecta in 2021. Biden made Garland AG and Durbin brought back blue slips. We need a better strategy and Dems willing to accept that this is 2025 and not 1995.

GOP leaders are now saying they want to protect Medicaid for "the truly vulnerable"

That's actually code for a big cut -- and taking out a piece of the ACA with it

Morning Bluesky.

A draft Executive Order seen by the NYT suggests the US is about to abandon Africa, which would be a big win for Russia and China.

The drastic overhaul of the State Department would eliminate almost all African operations and close embassies and consulates.
