This isn’t about ideology. It’s about ensuring that every major platform operating in Europe respects the same democratic standards. No exemptions, no intimidation, no double standards.
Europe is setting the tone. And this is only the beginning.

Europe’s unity was forged by generations who chose cooperation over war. We won’t throw that away because a billionaire fancies playing geopolitics.
The future of Europe is decided at the ballot box — not by algorithms.

Since 2022, Iranian women have bravely defied unjust laws. As European Democrats, we stand with them — for freedom, dignity and equality.

This is not about peace. It’s about appeasing narcissism. It’s about legitimising a style of leadership that fuels polarisation and undermines democratic norms.
At a time when democracies need courage and credibility, not flattery, this kind of theatre is not only embarrassing—it’s reckless.

Let’s not kid ourselves: giving a peace award to one of the most divisive political figures of our time, someone who flirted with authoritarianism and exploited fear for power, is not just absurd. It’s dangerous.
