I'm most of the engineering buildings in Purdue campus, there are only women's restrooms on every other floor or in the basement because they all had to be added after the original construction. I heard multiple professors opine that this was unnecessary and unfair to men to lose a bathroom.

When I went to college in 1974, there was a building on campus where there was no elevator, but the second and third floors had classrooms. So students in wheelchairs or on crutches couldn’t take those classes. I bet they have opinions about accommodations going too far.

Something I think people (such as reporters) might underestimate is the likelihood of a kid with a deficit lying to their peers and saying they're gaming the system.

Having deficits carries a lot of stigma and kids may think saying they're just gaming the system will play better with peers.

I would rather have a world where we all trust each other and accept that a few people will take advantage of it than a world where folks have to perform disability constantly in order to get the help they need. Let kids have an extra 30 minutes on the test, jesus fucking christ
