When my partner saw my previous #kidlitartpostcard he challenged me to make a forward-facing version. So here it is!

I love illustrating busy scenes, vibrant colours and silly animals ❤️

#sketchbookdiary progress: here’s where I am in learning to quick, highly abstracted sketches of people.

That turns out to be (artists out there will be shocked!) REALLY HARD.

Does anyone have resources to recommend?

absolutely this

time is a finite resource and we all only get so much of it

and we don’t even know how much we’re gonna get

spend it on things that matter to you 🩷
The most precious commodity you have is your attention. You don’t have to waste it on poor-faith debates or arguments with strangers if you don’t think they’ll be productive. You can prioritize the things that matter to you and make your life richer.

Not quite sure about the new sketchbook. The last two were watercolor sketchbooks, but they have so few pages. This one is mixed media, and a more satisfying length, but sketch mostly with India ink in a fountain pen. There’s some ghosting — not terrible but visible.

Writers and librarians, speak to me of archives.

We are cleaning out the Doom Room in our house. I have uncovered multiple bankers boxes full of my novel drafts and notebooks full of scribbles and research etc.

Quick cartoon. I was hoping to stay unplugged this week but I saw some news and had to take a break to draw this out. I think we all needed to see it realized.

I had a GP appt today, and we were comparing notes on treating my POTS and I mentioned the new hives thing maybe indicated MCAS and said “I know you must dread people who did their own research.”

Doctor: oh, no, you’re okay; this is great.”

Me: really?
