Caught Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein on the big screen tonight. What a treat. Sad, romantic, deeply human, and a flat out extraordinary performance from Jacob Elordi.

Don’t know why the hell I have to go all the way to Japan to get a real Jaws section at a Universal Park, but this is so damn cool. And yes, I’m doing the ride later today. Of course I am.

Universal Japan is wild for this one. After his failures on the Fourth of July? Smdh.

Rest in Peace to the great Drew Struzan, a man whose work sparked the imaginations of a whole generation of movie nerds. The master is gone.

I had the privilege of visiting him in his studio once and getting to talk shop. Here’s his words on one of his masterpieces:

I did a thing. Incredible friends, wonderful location, and a beautiful bride. I’m a lucky guy.

New Gore Verbinski alert! Saw Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die and it’s an incredibly entertaining satire about time travel, AI, pie, and the sad state of modern tech addiction. Sam Rockwell leads a great cast through a straight up bonkers save-the-world adventure. Out in theaters in January.

Happy birthday, boss! Hope you don’t have to share your cake.

I really dug the latest VHS. Halloween is definitely my vibe and it’s going to be a great regular seasonal watch. Casper Kelly’s segment brings all the Too Many Cooks style weirdness and is super gory and funny. Not a bad segment in the bunch!

First movie of Fantastic Fest 2025: Primate. What if Koko instead of Cujo? Rabid chimp terrorizes family in a fancy Hawaiian mountaintop house. Unapologetically gory studio horror flick that will for sure get crowds squirming in their seats when it comes out in January.

Wrapped up another screening for The Long Walk and got to experience another audience emotionally destroyed! Thanks to @lionsgate.com and @fangoria.bsky.social for setting up the screening and @ryanscottwrites.bsky.social for helping with the post-screening discussion!

Ben Barnes is on The Kingcast this week. He’s a charmer and has some great insight to Stephen King’s text.

At a screening of Caught Stealing where The Man in Black is interviewing the guy who’s going to direct Cujo and… well, Austin Butler.

After @brezwrites.bsky.social and I left the stage we got to hang out with the cast and filmmakers for a few minutes and let me tell you, it’s such a treat to watch @markhamillofficial.bsky.social hold court. What a whirlwind day. Thanks to @lionsgate.com for having us.

Our panel on The Long Walk is imminent! If I can maintain a walking speed of 3mph I should get there in time. See you soon, Hall H!

Best part of the SDCC show floor are all the weird little collectible booths. Movie posters, OOP soundtracks, toys, books, etc. I nabbed this great Cycle of the Werewolf promo poster from 1985 tonight!

The movie ended, Wampler’s dedication got a large round of applause and then I got to finally tell Ke Huy Quan how much I love Temple of Doom. Pretty goddamn good night.

Went to pick up my tickets for The Life of Chuck premiere and they made us walk the carpet (just before Mia Sara by the way). Apologies to all the confused photographers, but at least Kelsey looks hot.

Wrapping up my Life of Chuck week in style.

It’s been exactly one year since this motherfucker left us. Wampler was equal parts hilarious, creative, stubborn, catty, loving, and mischievous gremlin. I miss you, buddy.
