In the usual telling of the story, Hoffman, a proponent of method acting, prepared for a scene in which his character had been awake for three days by doing the same himself. When he told this to Olivier, Olivier remarked, "My dear boy, why don't you just try acting?"[21] In an interview on Inside the Actors Studio, Hoffman said that this exchange had been distorted; that he had been up all night at a nightclub for personal rather than professional reasons, and Olivier, who was aware of this, was merely joking.

Even though Kepler had inherited his grandfather's nobility, Kepler's poverty made him an unacceptable match. Jobst relented after Kepler completed work on Mysterium, but the engagement nearly fell apart while Kepler was away tending to the details of publication. However, Protestant officials—who had helped set up the match—pressured the Müllers to honor their agreement. Barbara and Johannes were married on 27 April 1597.

My favorite is the incredibly obtuse Fifth Edition rewordings that made everything worse
The Fifth Edition printing of the MTG card Drain Life, which turned what is now an X in the casting cost into an activated ability The Fifth Edition printing of the MTG card Island Sanctuary, which turned what is now a triggered ability into an activated ability The Fifth Edition printing of the MTG card Dandân, which uses the deprecated keyword Islandhome instead of writing out its rules text The Fifth Edition printing of the MTG card Sand Silos. The rules text is nearly unchanged from the current wording, but it does represent early MTG cards whose mechanics were fairly intuitive but proved too difficult to cleanly convey in a rigorous way within the rules of the game. Mark Rosewater, head designer of MTG, has referred to this as the "suspend problem".

Brandolini's law (or the bullshit asymmetry principle) is an Internet adage coined in 2013 by Italian programmer Alberto Brandolini. It compares the considerable effort of debunking misinformation to the relative ease of creating it in the first place. The adage states: The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than that needed to produce it.
