From my perspective outside the US, it was a big story in 2013, but now that it happens every few years, it's "nothing new, the US doing its usual political ritual". Same for the debt ceiling / impending default every few years.

I'm a SWE, and the one colleague I've seen get a non-negligible productivity boost from it uses it as a kind of "accessibility" tool to offset the effects of their neurodivergent condition.

EU and the US imposed direct sanctions on russia back in 2022, but those are not good enough as russia just sells its oil to China and India instead. As a Ukrainian, I'm rooting for secondary sanctions - those can save lives. The caveat is that I doubt he'll do it - TACO.

Coming from a poor background, I've seen plenty of both. Poor kind 1 is exactly like you describe, and my parents are of this kind. Poor kind 2 won't give a f and would drink, do drugs, and gamble, even if that means their kids literally freaking starving.

I have googled (before Gemini) something similar. Because normal rest heart rate is allegedly 60-100, but my watch says mine is ~49-52. Apparently it's both common and _probably_ fine. I'm too fat to call myself much of an athlete though.

Though looking at the video, that's not particularly relevant as the guy uses public bicycle, where bicycle bags that attach at the back are not usually an option.

For cycling specifically - meh: once it's 30C+, your back will be sweaty, and your backpack will be covered in white salty stains. Upgrading to a bicycle bag that attaches at the back of the bicycle was 100% worth it.

As a language learner, I'm happy that they choose to document "irregardless" and all the other WORDS that are controversial and maybe incorrect but commonly used.
