Trump pardoned Henry Cuellar, the Texas Democrat who was indicted by the Biden DOJ on charges of bribery and money laundering.

We have policy disagreements with the last anti-abortion Democrat in Congress. But that’s not what this is about.

Cuellar is now compromised by Trump and can’t be trusted.

If deemed valid, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna’s discharge petition would force House Speaker Mike Johnson to bring a stock-ban bill to the floor for a vote.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

There is no reason to delay this important reform.

Leader Thune should bring this legislation to the Senate Floor and it should be passed immediately.

We should protect children, not abusers and their corruption. Transparency is the only path forward to expose the extent of the crimes committed and give survivors justice.

The Epstein story gets a something that is tearing at the heart of the electorate: elite impunity. The idea that wealthy and powerful people can do terrible things *at scale* and face no consequences for them. Whatever political party actually stops it could rule the country for a generation.

Now is the time to fight, not surrender. 🗣️

Schumer must step down from his post as minority leader and allow for new leadership to emerge—someone who is willing to consistently fight for the American people.

Bernie Sanders calls the promised vote on ACA - the main concession won by Senate Democrats who voted to end the shutdown - "an empty gesture"

I've been reposting everyone replying to this post with their own ACA (and sometimes employer!) price hikes. Feel free to add yours. There is some comfort in knowing you aren't alone and knowing we'll all be voting on this issue in a year.

Chuck Schumer should be chucked out. #chuckchuck
My ACA current plan is going from $385/mo to $821/mo.

The thing about the "I voted against this" position Schumer is taking is that either he is trying to mislead Dem voters by implying he didn't support reopening right now, or he has no control over his caucus.

I don't know what the Senate is going to do. But if they do in fact fold in exchange for nothing, they will be living up to past performance. To expect the Senate to carry out the will of the American people is to misunderstand why it was created in the first place.

Unacceptable. There are 189,000 people in my district who will be paying 50–300% more for the same, and in many cases worse, healthcare.

I won’t do that to the people I represent. I’m a NO on this “deal.”

The irony here is that these policies (banning congressional stock trading, expanding Rx drugs negotiations) that Yglesias is lifting up have been undermined by corporate Democrats every step of the way.

I've been trying to ban congressional stock trading for four years and counting!
The list of things centrists think Dems should run on is so striking. There's some good stuff in here (expand Medicare to vision & dental), but it's mostly technical tweaks and preservation of the status quo.

Like yes, ban congressional stock trading but it's not exactly a compelling vision.
