I was kinda aiming for more realistic with this cat and then I got about halfway down the body, gave up, and painted him green. better luck next time?

I'm not gonna lie, I gave up on this one a little bit 😅 I don't dislike it, but I feel I could've done better and I didn't know how. it's a vision thing more than a quality thing though, I know that much

I sketch art pieces the same way I draft stories: fast and with the roughest lines. then I slow down to refine it. adding lines, erasing others, adding colors, picking what parts I want to stand out. eventually I have to say it's good enough. the improvements never end. nothing's truly finished

I spun the wheel. it landed on the short story. I guess I'm finally completing that today! leaving this to chance makes completing the story more exciting. I know I'm not forced to complete it, so no pressure, but also I didn't choose to complete it, and the unpredictability makes this more fun

I'm back to working on multiple writing projects even though I keep trying this and then it doesn't work. but I'm testing a new way, which is each day I'll decide by a dice roll which project I'll be working on. this way I don't have to balance anything. I'm leaving it all to chance

now that I’m on my second draft, that I started drafting before completing the first, I’ve sort of gotten into planning. because I now have an outline and I’m learning to work with that. it’s going better than I expected

I don't have a reliable enough style or skill level to do this now, but I'd love to do commissions one day. free ones. my business energy is being saved for books I'll publish 😂 but I still want the experience of being commissioned to draw a thing because I think it'd be cool

I've reached an understanding about what type of novel I'm writing and now I'm thinking of ending my first draft here and revising it in a way that basically means my next draft will be half of a second draft and half of a first draft stitched together

felt like experimenting with a new style. I like the thick outline look, but I always felt like you have to be really good at line art to actually do it and I don’t think I’m particularly good at line art. but this didn’t turn out so bad in the end and it’s really hard to judge your own work

I want to share my writing process more, but I don't know how to do that outside of sharing snippets and word counts. if anyone has any ideas of what else I could try, please let me know!
