Another England by Caroline Lucas. I went to Caroline's talk on this book while I was campaigning to be elected as Green councillor for Bedminster. I started reading this but got swamped so have just come back to it. Given...everything...it is particularly pertinent.

Reminds me of a walk we did last week where I converted my youngest to wild blackberries. My favourite fruit 💜

Feel like I'm late to the party again - reading Wilding by Isabella Tree. Both distressing and heartening...Love the cover too. This was an impromptu gift by a distant uncle so feels extra special.

Can't tell you the feeling of elation when the fascists started walking away.... Lovely to see various people there too. Well done #Bristol! #refugeesarewelcomehere #cityofsanctuary

When I Sing, Mountains Dance by Irene Sola. Shouldn't work but it really does.

Lovely weekend away camping in Herefordshire with 20-odd other families, meaning very minimal parenting required and much fun had by all. Feeling very lucky, although knackered, today. Hiding from the heat and trying to get work done...

Had a slightly surreal weekend in #cornwall involving distant relatives, a hotel with peacocks, a medieval house that was not what it seemed and a community meeting that took a few twists and turns. Still processing everything this morning & trying to do work. This week is going to be a long one...

There are many things going on in my life, some of which make more sense than others. This makes no sense.

I can't get my head round the inhumanity of the Supreme Court ruling but the #bristol #transally rally today was heart-breaking & heartening. The crowd was big, kind & supportive. I hope that energy takes us to a better future where bigotry cannot harm people who just want to live their lives.

I think these photos from Friday sum up #bristollife for me at the moment! The #graffiti #streetart made me smile on the way to a meeting, as did the hedgehog hole helping #wildlife #icecream I asked a local supermarket to put a #bin in a messy corner & they did!! #community #councillorlife

Very special to end the weekend at the Grand Iftar at Easton Jamia Mosque. I've also been to a local history art exhibition, visited an isolated friend, been to a planning consultion session, helped a community group clear a green space of rubbish & had a nice walk with the family. #tirednow

Every year since 2020, a group of fab folk have worked hard to create bundles of gifts for some of those in need in #BS3. This year, we gave out over 400 bags to schools and hostels, full of goodies. I love this project so much, long may it continue! #christmas #volunteers #teamwork

We went to Gloucester to see Lego and I managed to persuade the family to visit the cathedral. It is stunning and peaceful. I'm hoping to go back for a proper explore sometime. We are not a religious family but I think it is important to appreciate the work and wonder of these buildings.

I saw this furry orange spider on the ground while rushing to an event... Any clues as to what it is? @alexmorss.bsky.social
