It's very frustrating to see the ISU fall into the same trap of using "AI" in it's most wasteful, useless, and destructive forms, rather than making any attempt to figure out what technology would actually benefit the sport. People aren't clamouring for fake music and daft social media copy.

I'm glad you started this thread, because it's opened a very thoughtful conversation about how people might like to see tech integrated into the sport. There are legit possibilities for AI use here beyond genAI nonsense, and a lot of potential for solutions that aren't even AI, per se.

A thousand percent. It would improve the viewing & judging experience across the board: everyone can actually see what's going on!

I don't think we're even that far off here. Think of the NHK broadcasts of Japanese Nationals that already have the physics replays (i.e. jump height, landing speed). Developing the correct sensor rig, mapping and calibrating it, then developing an interface is well within reach, imo.
