I thought part of the connection is related to systemic inflammation. Tissues that are infected (gum disease) can results in chronic inflammation, and the inflammation response, in turn, increases risk of stroke

Tried fiddling around with a flat brush just now, just to get the feel of it. Fun!

It was perfect! I love that area so much. Just beyond this part of the trail is a full view of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau 💙

Got interrupted while I was painting some leaves & acorns.
The acorns shifted position (rolled) and the leaves began to wilt.

Ted brought his lovely Weber mandolin for repair (has worn down frets). Person who helped us saw him looking at old instruments on wall & brought out 1913 mandola. I didn't know there was such a thing
He played it. Sweet. So I told Ted I'd buy it for him as a treat for my upcoming birthday 😉 🧵 2/

A year or so ago, I did something similar: for some reason I picked 9 months on little strips of paper & painted my impression of each month, then put side-by-side. I liked it but should have had the mat to separate

That's a shame about the short summers.
I wasn't much familiar with the tree or fruit before coming here. We live ~35 mile south of San Francisco.
Here is the little tree in former years and some fruit that I let ripen on tree. Such a pretty fruit!
