I never heard of a lynching in self-defense before.
Willie Baird On December 22, 1920, local union official and itinerant Nazarine minister Adrian Northcutt of Nauvoo, Alabama was summoned out of his home by soldiers of Company M of the Alabama Guard. After hearing seven shots fired in quick succession, Northcutt's son-in-law William (Willie) Baird rushed out to find Northcutt, dead on the ground, with Private James Morris standing over him. Baird shot Morris in self-defense, then fled into the woods. After three days, Baird turned himself over to Walker County officials. On January 5, nine guardsmen of Company M entered the jail, subdued the sheriff on duty, lynched Baird, and riddled his body with bullets.[20] The guardsmen were eventually acquitted. Former Alabama governor Braxton Bragg Comer would claim that the lynching of Baird "had some element of self-defense in it"

Cole is an adult, so he doesn't have a right to have his parents present during interrogation.

I liked the SCOTUS ruling that said Alabama must have districts that resulted in the election of another Black and Democratic representative. We have seven districts. White supremacists want 6/7 of the districts for themselves.

White - 65.36% Black or African American - 26.09% Two or more races (multiracial) - 4.51% Some other race - 2.12% Asian - 1.42% American Indian and Alaska Native - 0.44% Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander - 0.05%

We have mounds and a community named Moundville. I understand that the mounds used to be piled high with significant stuff. I last went to Moundville in 1981. It looks like it's been landscaped since then.

There was a tiny museum.

Australian-American artist Petrina Ryan-Kield painted this portrait of Bill Clinton in a blue dress with red high heeled shoes. She painted portraits of Presidents Clinton and Bush as a graduate student at NY Academy of Art. They were old at a fundraising event. Ms PR-K did not know who bought the paintings. The dress refers to Monica Lewinsky's infamous blue dress. HRC wore a similar blue dress to the 2009 Kennedy Center Honors event. Ms. PR-K said the painting was about "how opposition parties caricature presidents." The Daily Mail reported that an anonymous law enforcement officer saw the painting in Epstein's NYC apartment in 2019.

I'm happy for people to practice the religion (or none) of their choice (except for Scientology because that is a tax scam and a cult). This is the weirdest thing I've encountered. The juvenile court judge I was assigned to did not come to court one day because he went to see this saint appear.
