As a PIP receiver with a Motorbility car (which obviously I got completely nefariously) one reason I stated for not being able to use public transport is scenes like this! Just imagining trying to get a seat on that or get into it if it's a wheelchair day fills me with well remembered horrors!

I'm getting to the point where I'm just not going to pay my Thames Water bill. I spent the last 6 months being extremely careful with water, using my bath or shower water to flush the loo, catching kitchen water for my plants. My use went down by 43%, my bill went up by £10. Absolute criminals.

Because it's all about placing women in very particular boxes that define their main/only role as wife and mother while men are providers. Anything that goes outside of this, whether it be controlling reproduction or supposedly straying from gender 'norms' (not my opinion) is being smashed together.

Sad to report though that I left benchmark for good a decade later when our lab didn't get funding for my work under Bush Jnr. A sad potential glimpse into the future of all those scientists who've lost their grants this year and may also never return to research 😢🤬

It's such a great book. As an undergrad in the mid 1990s, it was the base for my final essay on the contemporary moral politics of HIV and AIDS and one of several key starting points in a career for a while as a scientist researching HIV 🥰🥰

As a professional writer, the moment all the threads of research and collected ideas coalesce with my decades of knowledge is so beautiful. I've been sent AI search results or note transcribing and devoid of that base of experience, so far, it's come up with, sometimes dangerously wrong, nonsense.

No surprises there, not that the new guidelines do that much (which I wouldn't even know as I've been waiting for 4 years for an ongoing appointment at my ME 'service' while continually telling my GP I'm progressively deteriorating!).

It's a fucking horror movie where all the gains of the last few decades are being rapidly reversed, at its mildest, it's spiteful, but people are dying because of these hideous dictates. I have colleagues on the absolute brink of an HIV cure and they fear so much that their funding will be cut now.

So, so sad. I saw her many times at all the fun PVs, always so lovely, it's unimaginable that she won't be popping up any more, and, more so, continuing to develop her wonderful clothes into art pieces as she'd been doing, she will be so missed 💔😭
