My 7yo came home from sleepaway camp
Infected by K Pop Demon Hunters. I like to call it K Funk Demon Poppers and then wait for her head to explode. Highly recommend.

Between the fires and these protests, I hope this year teaches everyone that most of the shit talking you hear about California and more specifically, LA, comes from racists and gentrifying transplants. Most people love living here and would do anything to protect it.

Oh goodness. Look at the riots. Guurrlll, this town knows how to riot and this ain’t it.
The are line dancing in the middle of the protest while shouting Fuck ICE

People are acting like LA has never seen riots before. Look, this city knows how to riot. Even LAPD is saying this ain’t it. If you aren’t in LA, don’t believe this admins hype.

Everyone warned me that three under three would be hard but HOLY CRAP, why didn’t anyone warn me about three between 9-12??? I think I might die of the sass. #parenting #motherhood

Shout out to the woman at my yoga class drinking an iced coffee out of a glass pint glass. It was 3/4 full, which means she not only brought a glass open container to an exercise class but also walked or drove with it from her home. Wild choice.

Teach your kids to cook, they said.
They’ll learn valuable life skills and you get to spend quality time with them, they said.

All true, until Someone spills and entire cup of lemon juice and olive oil all over your newly cleaned wood floors.

I cause one tiny little plane crash and cause the death of my friends and now the company goons are after me. Of course I have to escape into the woods to find the protection, and absolution, from my ex.

I wanted to write, but didn’t know how in my chaotic life until I read something Diana Gabaldon said: she wrote in “lost minutes of the day” or something like that. Waiting for kid pick up, lunch break at work, ten minutes in the car when early for an appt. Now I’m four novels in.

Me: son, look at this nice fleece vest for cool days.
Son : I will never wear that. You might as well burn it.
Me, over 18 months: gently suggests the nice fashionable warm vest only to be met with withering looks
Son, yesterday: Hey mom, check out the super cool spy vest I found in my drawer.

Just had to bring 4 children to the dentist for back to back appointments. Apologies to everyone else in the waiting room who now never ever wants to have children. They’re a blessing. Truly.

Wondering if we still have a USGS to tell us how big and where that earthquake was?
March 3, 2025 at 6:31 AM
Nothing like a Sunday night earthquake directly under us. I don’t think I’ve ever been so close to an epicenter before…and glad it was only 3.9.

Someone explain to me why in the year of our lord 2025 when we can send people to space for months at a time and talk to them via video, we are still reporting STIs via paper form via fax only.

There is an email is my querying inbox but I can’t bring myself to look at it. It is a rejection but also maybe a request. It is Schrödinger’s email.

My 6yo is discovering that live TV (nikelodeon) kinda sucks. We’re in this tiny hotel room and she’s asked 5 times how to skip the commercials (and also the scary and kissing parts of the movie)

Remembering the time at Berkeley when my professor said he and Ted Kaczynski both started as grad students at the same time, but my professor got the better teaching evaluations which is why he was a tenured professor and TK was not. And now many years later I can’t tell if he was serious or not.
