It's much more trouble to punish a tenant than it is to cash late checks! Most decent rentals understand that, and as long as you don't make a habit of late rent it's usually not an issue. I deleted my last post because I was gonna suggest calling, but you already did - you've done everything right!

There may be a percent-based late fee, but you've done the right thing by already contacting your landlord beforehand. There's typically a short grace period after the deadline though, so if you complex has one + you can let them know exactly when you can pay, you should be fine
