As long as we still pretend that usa is still an ally, we won't do what's necessary to survive

I have very little doubt Europe comes out on top eventually. But the question is how many more deaths are necessary before that happens.

Looking at how hesitant Europe and the UK were even as Germany took entire countries at the beginning of WW2, I would not be surprised if things have to get much much worse before Europe truly takes the Russian and Chinese threat seriously.

There are so clearly two primary factions figthing for control of Ukraine policy.

Generally the Russia-first one seems dumber, but luckily less successful than I feared.

But Trump is extremely suggestable, and all they need to do is wave a "peace plan" and he'll stamp it without asking questions

Doesn't require journalism to see this. Just WH press releases.

Every month a faction gets Trump in a room, and we flip from more sanctions on Russia, to pressuring Ukraine to surrender.

Trump does not care how it ends, he just wants to cash in with Russia as soon as possible, and claim peace.

And still are dismissive TBH.

There are still a lot of professional "centrists" who are of the opinion that this isn't really much to worry about because it won't succeed, so who cares.

And even when it does succeed they don't seem to care that much? They tut-tut, but otherwise view this as a game

Must be.

Clearly being asked to get vaccinated for the safety of yourself and others is equivalent to being asked to murder innocent people across central america in an illegal war.

Basically the same thing.

The admin is trying to simultaneously deny that this is their policy, and also deny that they were the victim of a simple Russian disinformation op.

They would basically rather adopt this as their policy than admit that they were duped.

Everyone inside the administration knows that absolutely insane things are genuinely proposed by top leadership all the time, and the only real rule is to not question it.

There are far more consequences for questioning crazy policies than there are for just letting it continue.
