High school teacher by day, idiot 24/7.
It is often (not always) a school holiday in Tennessee not because they want people to vote, but because the schools are where the voting takes place.

Do you think the X-men should go back to having an “international” team like Excalibur? If so, where should they be located and who would you send over and who would be their Kurt/Kitty equivalent(s)?

What you have to realize is that there are three separate mainline Evangelical responses to Halloween - "we don't actually care, get some candy", "this is of the Catholics/Devil, you will absolutely not celebrate it", and "if we slap Jesus on it, maybe we can monetize this."

This is a really boring answer, but I’m pretty sure that you’d take the same general path as you would with real world machines that can kill people without direction - that is, booby traps. It’s a bunch of murder and aggravated assault charges.

My qualifications are that I have moderated a lot of small online communities and also would ban Jesse Singal immediately.

Palmer is, as far as I can tell, also seeking to have the case dismissed in Massachusetts on the same grounds. Again, this doesn't stop anything that could be filed in New Zealand.

I love it when my old students come back and prove that I have not wasted the last oh-my-god-too-long of my life. It’s getting concerning how old they’re getting now, though.

I can already see the clickbait headlines and I hope that more people who understand what’s going on will be vocal!

What we do know is that the plaintiff can refile in NZ at her discretion. This doesn't mean that anyone found her claims unsubstantiated or that Gaiman successfully introduced any doubt into the proceedings; it just means that somebody made a really bad choice of fillings.

present here. There are a few good reasons why the suit might have been brought in the US (perhaps the laws favor the plaintiff here?), as well as some not great ones (better potential monetary award in the US, for starters). Regardless, we don't know the why.

Gaiman has/had a residence in Wisconsin, so bringing this suit here isn't as crazy as it sounds, but it was actually a fairly big swing from the jump. You can absolutely bring suit against someone in a third jurisdiction, there just has to be...a lot of things present to get there that don't seem

So, Gaiman's case was dismissed because it was, according to the judge, filed in the wrong forum. He held that it would be rather difficult to justify why a case between a woman from New Zealand and a man from the UK over an claim that happened in NZ should be heard in the US.
