Remember the Boars Head listeria outbreak that killed 10 people & made 60+ ill? Well a key CDC program will no longer be monitoring for listeria & other foodborne illnesses. Without early detection & intervention—more people will get seriously sick & die.
The CDC quietly scaled back a surveillance program for foodborne illnesses
As of July 1, a critical surveillance program is monitoring for only two pathogens instead of the usual eight.

The crisis is here now. Trump is enacting an insidious coordinated attack on our institutions of democratic accountability, designed to crater democracy before next fall.

Some elected leaders work tirelessly to eradicate heartbreaking diseases and medical conditions. Meanwhile, others work tirelessly to push more hardship and tragedy into our lives by defunding science.

Thanks to @delauro.house.gov for being on the right side.
April is Parkinson's Awareness Month, a time where we unite to raise awareness for the nearly 1M Americans living with Parkinson’s.

We must pass the American Family Act and make the expanded, monthly Child Tax Credit permanent.

I spoke to a South Carolina woman today who is miscarrying - her fetus has no heartbeat - but the state's ban is preventing doctors from taking action.

She has to walk around with a dead fetus for another week so she can get a FOURTH ultrasound.

This is what bans do.

Democrats limited bank overdraft fees to $5.

This would have saved consumers $5 billion/year, but President Trump & Republicans cater to Big Banks. They’ll let them continue to gouge consumers at the ATM.

This will raise costs on middle & working-class Americans.
