Update: We now have systemwide restoration of service.

These is our first passenger train on Yellow line.

Service is back systemwide!

I’ll have more to say later on what happened here.

I’m grateful to BART staff for their quick work, and all our partner agencies for mutual aid.
Limited East Bay service resuming at 9:30am:

• Yellow line from Antioch to MacArthur
• Blue line from Dublin to MacArthur
• Orange line from Richmond to Berryessa

No ETA yet for SF/West Bay service
BART is down systemwide. While it is, here’s a tool for finding alternative options for your trip.

And there is no real alternative to the role BART plays in our region. You should always be able to count on BART, and I’m sorry that today you can’t.

I’ll share more information when I have it.

We have swapped our larger ferries into service where possible. Take the ferry from Vallejo, Oakland, Richmond or Alameda or take @rideact.bsky.social transbay buses.

Our schedules are here: sanfranciscobayferry.com/routes-sched.... You can use Clipper, the SF Bay Ferry app or pay on the boat.
Due to a computer networking problem BART service is suspended system wide until further notice. Seek alternate means of transportation. Find more info at bart.gov/alternatives

Know this rhetoric is a daily occurrence now but christ “incompatible migrants” is phrasing indistinguishable from the most vile neo-nazi screeds & is the type of dehumanizing language that can & will lead to the unthinkable
"Europe is on the brink of civilizational suicide," US Vice President Vance told Fox News. "Countries don’t control borders, restrict free speech. If Germany takes in millions more incompatible migrants, it’ll destroy itself. America can’t save it."

The fight going on in the Democratic Party right now is not between hard left, left and moderate. It’s between those who want to fight and those who want to cave. And Team Fight stretches across all ideological aspects of the Party. Misread this at your own peril.

For those supporting this obscene violation of due process and expansion of governmental overreach to detain and deport legal residents without due process, please research authoritarian regimes.

Today they'll use it against a group you don't like, but it will be turned on you tomorrow.

They used “free speech” to hide their intentions to destroy speech.

They used “DEI” to claim they were being discriminated against in order to discriminate against Black people.

They used “groomers” to claim trans people were targeting children so they could target trans people *and* children.

Last year, Republicans silenced her.

This year, many stood beside her and defeated four anti-trans bills.

This is the power of standing up for your beliefs and for what's right, and good trouble.

National Democrats, take notice.

What’s “deeply unfair” is the shameless backpedaling on trans rights and the villainizing and scapegoating of a community that simply wants to exist.

Trans rights now, trans rights forever, fuck that noise.

I wish more people knew about the 1920s Klan because they—perhaps more than European fascists—are the model for Trumpism.

This is a good summary and a nice reminder that they do a lot of damage, but in the end, fascists always lose.
In light of everything happening, I wrote about how the KKK in the 1920s felt unstoppable, about the people that fought against them anyway, and about how fascism always fails. dansinker.com/posts/202…

We’ve got a new Mayor, Supervisor, and BART Director (👋) for the Mission.

And we need a new plan to make sure our Mission plazas are vibrant, welcoming, clean, and safe.
S.F. is cracking down on chaotic streets. But are the problems getting pushed into one neighborhood?
San Francisco's Mission District has seen illegal vending, homelessness and illicit drug markets for a long time. Can new leadership turn the situation around?

Major news! A court in Montana has just declared SB458, a bill that "defines sex" in a way that ends the legal recognition of transgender people in Montana, as facially unconstitutional.

This is the first time a bill defining sex has been ruled on!

Huge win for trans people in MT!
