Tilly’s motto: play hard, sleep hard.

Didn’t even need my head torch on the walk this evening 🌝

Good walk today.

My soup’s serving suggestion is that I should somehow reconstitute it into its constituent parts and lay them out in a black void when I eat them.

Always enjoy passing this shop…

I can’t believe I missed this until googling the film just now. I’m assuming it’s gotta be intentional.

Who’ve thought the director of Ultraviolet and Equilibrium (not to mention One Tough Bastard) would be the one to break the series’ recent slump.
November 25, 2025 at 1:13 AM
Kate Moyer’s Eden Edwards continues to be the strongest element in the film. You could quite easily write out the boring older sister protag and just focus on her.

Oh hey creepy gas mask kids. Always good to see. I’ll forever think of Dr. Who whenever I see one.
November 25, 2025 at 12:35 AM
Didn’t expect Stephen Hunter (late of The Hobbit movies) to portray the most realistic midwestern corn farmer in the series but there you go.
November 25, 2025 at 12:11 AM
There’s a Red Queen / Alice in Wonderland theme going on here that I’m not sure I get or see the point of…
November 25, 2025 at 12:02 AM
Australian Matthew McConaughey is trying to convince them to destroy the corn and take government subsidies. Something something GMOs?
November 24, 2025 at 11:51 PM
It’s not actually too badly shot at times (although this series must have gone through every conceivable way to shoot a corn field) but the character writing is overwrought and very flat. It’s not so much the acting as the characters stating their motivations every time they open their mouths.

Apparently not. Nice to see the IFCO is still protecting teens from mediocre horror though:

Something about the RLJ logo doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. Comparable to the LJN logo on a video game.

I miss the days when this series would’ve got character actors like David Carradine, Stacy Keach or Michael Ironside to play these kinds of supporting roles. Here we’ve got this sheriff played by a guy from Round the Twist and Home and Away.
November 24, 2025 at 11:23 PM
Oh hey a decent kid actor, it’s been a while since this series has had one of those.
November 24, 2025 at 10:59 PM
Might give this a watch since I hate myself apparently. 🌽
November 24, 2025 at 10:58 PM
Getting chilly now lads 🥶

Fair play to Edgar Wright, in promoting The Running Man he’s done pretty much every show that has a regular guest slot and a fair few that don’t.

All of them from this goddam movie…

Tilly’s happy to walk in the rain for as long as we can but as soon as we get back home and have to get out of the car, she refuses to budge until I pick her up and carry her into the house ☔️
