And that's why this year I was present at both Wales' worst straight consecutive defeat, and also at our worst ever home defeat 🤙

How would you control access? I'm genuinely curious. But be aware that the wildlife argument holds little water.

The funding black hole is real - our NPs are asked to work miracles with budgets many millions short of a few years ago in real terms.

It's also true that ecologically speaking, visitors aren't really moving the needle when it comes to the destruction of nature. For that conversation we need to talk about farming, water companies, and development.

If anything, National Parks make millions of people care about places like your home

I completely understand your frustration, but there is a better solution to the problem than installing a paywall that would ultimately limit enjoyment of the landscape to the well-off.

He has also gutted voluntary parks programmes, cut staff to the bone, and is selling other federally owned bits of land short of NP status off for mineral extraction. Let's not make Trump the model for comparison...

Will, I'm no opponent of the visitor levy in principle, but this is a poor comparison. US parks are federally owned, more or less devoid of permanent residents.

Our own National Parks bear no comparison.

Reasonable people think what Trump is doing is pretty awful.
