When I see a 'press' pay out their staff (not the owner, the staff) from royalties/profits, that's a big big flag to stay as far away from them as possible.

As a multi-lingual user myself, 100% yes!
This is also an accessibility problem. No matter your native language, computer 'stuff' is done in English in most of the world. So if your program is the only one that uses 'local language' shortcuts, people are going to get confused.
