Even the graphic I use as an invitation to “The Table” implies an inviting, diverse, inclusive, and safe place, with an empty spot for you to join us.

One thing that may not obvious from this text is that “The Table” becomes a sacred space. When I play on a large table at a convention, I have a beautiful scarf I use as a tablecloth. I am very careful to ceremonially point it out, and leave it empty to start.
