he's not my all-time favorite lead Digimon but my love for this lil weirdo/freak (complimentary) grows each episode

There's a couple of cool games I played - particular favorites were Leviathan Wilds, Rematch and Naishi from memory; I know I missed a ton of other great stuff too though.

I grabbed some things + freebies tho: excited to do some solo play of Cozy Stickerville + I was eying Nice Cuppa for a while!

Clannad: After Story (2008)

Might now be my favorite dramatic romance anime now. (Clarifier needed cause I still love Wotakoi too much) This feels so different from S1 but a perfect continuation and pulls on my heart strings in such immaculate ways. Normally I wouldn't, but I also like the ending!

Wakakozake (2015)

"Post-work meal enjoyment" always be one of my favorite genres and this is another I wish I saw earlier. It's also short enough to be something I could put on whenever I need a comfort show and want a reminder of what a nice beer + warm bowl of edamame feels like.

Chainsaw Man The Movie: Reze Arc (2025)

Really great adaptation of my favorite arc in the manga. I don't really know if it's too much to say beyond that - the fights in this are great too, if a bit over the top because they have to go all out for a theatrical release. I should reread Part 1...

Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween (2022)

Another rewatch for the season and this is now solidly my favorite modern Conan film. Lots of great character moments, Amuro is still annoyingly Mary Sue but doesn't steal the show & the action + villain are incredible. A recommended must-see imo.

Death Becomes Her (1992)

holy FUCK this is my jam. I love me a solid black comedy and this one really fit the bill and I'm sad I didn't see it sooner. I do agree that the jokes wouldn't perfectly land for everyone in a "early Simpsons" kind of way + ending isn't that satisfying but who tf cares

Corpse Bride (2005)

I didn't love it as much as Nightmare Before Christmas, but it still stands well on its own! It's a nice October watch if you need something spooky-adjacent, but I definitely didn't find much to latch onto after finishing it nor much to find it as a personal favorite.

Hexalogic (2018)

A really well polished and designed sudoku experience. I'm so upset this is missing a daily challenge mode or even a lower cost spinoff with one cause it'd be *perfect*. The visuals are a bit too busy for me but I can't argue it doesn't give it its own identity.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

Sorta eh for me - I thought it was great fun (Tim Curry was amazing) and enjoyed my first active showing for it (intro song's my fave), but it's just a bit too nonsensical and out there for me to be the biggest stan for it. I'm also not a musical kid either so 🤷

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2000)

This was just really damn good. Animated just as incredibly as you'd expect any Kawajiri film to be but I also appreciated the continuation and doubling down of the world the first movie set. I want to give that first one a rewatch but this one was stellar.

Novacaine (2025)

A surprisingly enjoyable and fun movie! Not incredible, but after The Amateur, I wasn't expecting much out of a straightforward premise action film lately. Luckily, they make full use of the premise here and pull no visual punches. It helps too that the romance feels sincere too!

Blood: The Last Vampire (2000)

This is absolutely in the "I adore the vibes/setting, but boy I wish there was substance" camp for me. This is the worst feeling of those, because while I'm unsure if it was ever meant to, it really feels like a failed pilot that I would have LOVED to watch.

Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge (1997)

Not bad, but entirely what you'd expect from a late 90s VG-property OVA. Plenty of "see your fave do X" scenes, while trying to push a semblance of plot. It was at least well animated.

The EN dub was way too prose-y with its dialogue but eh.

PUI PUI Molcar: DRIVING SCHOOL (2022)

Time for something different, something I've wanted to get to! I loved S1 and was a bit hesitant this would be kind of boring by not changing up much - but I'm glad to be wrong! Continues to be a charming show w/ great animation. Hopefully S3 happens too.

Perfect Blue (1998)

Here for the 4K screening, which to be honest, felt like a bit of a disservice? Perfect Blue's in that age where the better the footage looks, the more obvious the slightly choppy cel anim shows.

Otherwise? Still the most incredible movie. Continues to be my favorite Kon film.

Another (2012)

By no means "good", but it's so over the top and stupid that I had so much fun with it any way. The conclusion sucks for sure, but admittedly I was here entirely for the action not really the story.

The OVA is infuriating though, when accounting for the entire story.

Case Closed: Sunflowers of Inferno (2015)

Conan continues! Neat but not incredible. He's still not a favorite of mine, this movie did help a bit more to make me understand why people like Kaito Kid so much. This is also one of the films where I think the locale setup was not worth the mystery.

See You Tomorrow at the Food Court (2025)

Super charming show that weirdly feels like I'd enjoy more if it was twelve 12m episodes rather than six 24m ones. The humor works better than you'd think and the premise is rather cute. Definitely need to make time to read the manga for this.

Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping (2025)

Not a lot of games that get close to this for me, but the Duck Detective series gives me the same good feelings as the Sam & Max series did. (both Sierra and Telltale)

I still think its major flaw is the final arrest choice, but the rest is hilarious

SAKAMOTO DAYS Part 2 (2025)

Was worried this would frustrate me, but nope - sometimes a silly shonen is helpful to lift your spirits. The assassin arc is kind of wack and the school arc seems rote, but once again this show shines by having such fun characters and really engaging fights.

Lupin the Third vs. Cat's Eye (2023)

Honestly better than I was expecting! Certainly not as good as the better Lupin films, but holds its own well enough, takes its plot seriously and the CGI is... ok.

Main problem is the two teams don't feel on equal terms - Cat's Eye feels "amateurish" at times.

The Summer Hikaru Died (2025)

Easily in the top 5 of stuff I've watched this year. Incredibly emotional and also nails not just its horror, but its small town community frustrations too.

Also appreciate how unabashedly gay it is. It's easy for it to sidestep things but it shows its pride well.

New PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT (2025)

Man, I forgot how incredible PSG is. I was anxious for this leading up to it - if you can't tell, I like humor but not overly vulgar humor - but god does Trigger still nail this type of comedy better than the rest. Still waiting for more Inferno Cop pls

DANDADAN S2 (2025)

Still good! It was nice to revisit some of my favorite fights through this season, cause I forgot some of the bits here. I'm more excited for the stuff coming up in Season 3 but god, they really well all out for the fights this season. Bonus: the dub cast is really good!
