I write about the semiconductor industry for CRN from the lovely state of Maine. But I post here about a lot of other things, like video games, dad stuff, retro PCs, politics, music and TV shows.
You were there for the bi-awakening. Now you await the bi-reckoning.

@weisenthal.bsky.social Hi Joe! I got an email from someone who appears to be posing as you. Unless this is you... but it seems very uncharacteristic for your line of work as a journalist. I can share the email address if you're interested.

Since many will be playing Hollow Knight: Silksong tomorrow, I wanted to impart on you one more time about how much Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown kicks ass. Check out how I basically Dragonball Z'd this boss to death.

If Valve wants to break into the TV world, my suggestion is to do an Andor-inspired sci-fi political thriller/espionage show set in City 17 during or close to the events of Half-Life 2.

"Last year my best friend quit his full time job to chase his dream and make a fully fledged video game. Today he just released a trailer and it looks beyond amazing."

Nine years later, the Hollow Knight and its sequel are on the verge of surpassing lifetime sales of the Metroid franchise.

All this for $50, but I probably wouldn't touch it for a while because I need a big-ass desk for all my old PCs that I haven't touched for a couple months.

The more I think about Vertigo, the more I love it--in various ways. Can you believe that this is a still from a 1958 movie?
August 25, 2025 at 4:01 PM
My wife got me the Ultra HD box set for the Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection, but I accidentally had us watch the regular Blu-ray version of Vertigo tonight.

I will never live this down.

Lmao, Grok on X says Hollow Knight: Silksong will come out on November 12 despite several posts directly below it explicitly stating September 4 as the real release date. I'm kinda in awe of how wrong Grok is about something that is so easily verifiable.

UFO 50 has an excellent tower defense game called "Rock On! Island." A developer note says, originally the cavemen were supposed to move around, but it was too hard to design and program."

Also, in Camouflage, you get the privilege of learning what it's like to be eaten by a crab.

I am so smitten by some of these games, like Velgress. Some reviews made it sound like a lot of the games had too much of that 80s-era friction, but while quite a few are difficult, they are a lot of fun, and that makes me fine with the learning curve.
