Sort of. When renewables are the market answer to new demand that lowers rates but state mandates for renewables tend to raise rates.

Literally every lens you can look at this story through is politically inconvenient for somebody. Congrats to LBNL on maybe the most politically uncomfortable paper ever written.

Best part is all the people who bought ode 2s last year as espresso grinders and didn't realize they'd bought the wrong one so then we end up with way below msrp hardly used odes.

The correct answer is a fellow ode it's so good.

The tricky bit is that the actual impact of data centers on electricity bills is far less certain than that. It's a really convenient political story it just might not be all that true.

An overall explainer of how Australian net metering works from both a resident and utility perspective would be super helpful just to look at in contrast to US schemes where they exist.

There probably isn't much difference at the core but what a lot of especially younger guys seem to want is a "this is for/aimed at me. These people are interested in me specifically" and that's where universal appeals fall short.

Tbh this is why my preferred model of positive masculinity is the Extremely Supportive Gym Bro. Very vertical video friendly archetype.

Sure but if you want to get that model out into culture more broadly it's gotta be accessible to people who will not Do The Reading.

Like if you want to have a model of being a good man it's gotta exclude non-men to at least some extent otherwise it's just a model of being a good person and that gets really thorny really fast.

Trickiest bit is a lot of liberals vv uncomfortable with answering "what's the difference between being a good man and being a good person"

Tricky bit is insurance premiums. Navies are insured by being part of the government.

And it's a very saturated market.

What it's really missing is a villain. Telling a good political story requires a villain.

once you start stacking dice to build terrain you find there's almost no limit to the number of d6 you can find use for.

Role-playing games are campfire stories with your friends and carefully aesthetically curated bag of way too many dice

Miss going to the library, having no clue what I was in for beyond "this is in the fantasy section and has dope cover art", and sitting down to read.

There have been a number of proposals made at PJM along the lines of requiring data centers to bring their own capacity--the devil is in the very fine details and so far no individual proposal has passed the voting thresholds to move forward.
