One of the iffsets to liwer income than in private sector has been greater security of employment. That is destroyed, if they want fired emlployees to return, they should offer higher salaries.. if they change their (lack of) minds, make them pay. DOGE saving $$, right. So shouldn't increase budget.

American me says roomate (rarely) concerning both or housemate. Flatmate definitely Aus. Seems to me that the whole idea of shared housing is less "normal" in Aus than in US -- so wording more specific.

In Australia I have not seen one university where any living situation involved sharing a room. Basically unheard of. May happen privately but not common.
