Later in the day, as part of Ambassador Owen's visit to @uniofgalway.bsky.social, Francis O'Connor (Set and Costume Designer) gave the Ambassador a tour of some Druid model boxes which were on display as part of the Druid symposium on campus.

We presented Ambassador Owen with a selection of Druid gifts including the newly published book, 'Druid Theatre 1975-2025: 50 Years of New Irish Plays'.

We're really grateful to everyone at University of Galway for this wonderful honour and celebration.

Featuring a number of display cases filled with objects from the Druid archive at @uniofgalway.bsky.social, the exhibition was officially opened last Friday as part of an academic symposium marking our 50th anniversary.

We're really grateful to everyone at University of Galway and the symposium participants and attendees for making Friday such a special, reflective and inspiring day for us.

During the exhibition opening, we also celebrated the publication of a new book, 'Druid Theatre 1975 – 2025: New Irish Plays’, edited by Dr Barry Houlihan, Professor Patrick Lonergan and Dr Máiréad Ní Chróinín.

The symposium included
- a panel discussion with recipients of Druid's Marie Mullen Bursary
- a panel discussion with younger members of recent Druid casts and creative teams
- a keynote conversation with Garry Hynes and Set and Costume Designer Francis O’Connor
