Shocked to discover that my research has been included in the database to train AI by Meta. No one's asked for my permission. We need better policy and legislation to monitor AI and respect our rights as authors.

Thanks to @alcs.co.uk and @theatlantic.com for raising awareness

I’m so gutted that I’m sick and so cannot / will not join the strike physically today. I have instead emailed the VC and director of HR to express my support for strike and my distress and shame about working for an institution that does not value staff enough to pay a living wage!

Feedback coming in now, including "outstanding edition, real meat and the feeling of the profession coming together". This issue was challenging to pull together, and at times it felt like there was zero appetite to think / talk about Covid. So the team and I are very pleased to get these comments!
