I read @nickcourage.bsky.social ‘s first novel, The Loudness, TEN years ago today! I *love* this book & was impressed by how credible Nick’s dystopian society felt YET even when there were terrible things happening (or that had happened) there was always a powerful thread of hope to hold onto.

It’s been a year (tomorrow) since my friend V & I saw our first Celebration show (& my 33rd Madonna show) & I’m just now going through all of the photos I took song by song. “Bad Girl” was a song I’d always wanted to see live so it was a treat seeing her perform it with her daughter on piano.

I went to grab the new Klune, and somehow these other books just leapt into my basket. Wild!

And how did you spend your vacation days, Ryan?

I built five new bookcases (three pictured). Then I threw my back out… brushing my teeth.

Yup. Obsessed. My intent was to bounce back and forth between Sanderson and Klune as they’re current my new-to-me authors but plans changed: I had to go straight into The Hero of the Ages after finishing this.

Hi. I’m 200 pages into my first Sanderson and I’m becoming an insufferable evangelist. My apologies.

I bought tickets to see Charo a few months ago as an impulse buy and her show was this week. She was incredible.

And so it began 40 years ago. I remember the day I got this album, too. I saw the “Lucky Star” video on MTV before school & couldn’t get it out of my head all day. When my mom later picked me up I begged to be taken to Quonset Hut to get the album. She acquiesced and here we are.
