Intro post for pinning. I have a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Worked for about a decade doing research and data analysis. Just about the time (last Trump term) my funding was cut, went into *severe* burnout. Found out it was autistic burnout 😀. 1/3
I'm definitely ordering a couple copies of COLOR TASTE TEXTURE for holiday gift giving this year. I know a couple of kids who've been labeled as "picky eaters" (derogatory) whose families could use the resource.
I’m an Autistic classically trained chef and I wrote a food aversion acceptance cookbook and guide titled COLOR TASTE TEXTURE, that’s all about finding out what works for specific sensory needs and how to customize food for them. It’s useful for all ages, no cooking experience necessary.

I mean, I irritate my friends sometimes, and they are the people who love me, I can entirely understand why people who don't, in fact, care about me would decide I'm too much to deal with
It's also humbling seeing that people have blocked me, and forcing myself to say, "that's okay".

The LOUD bus from this a.m. had a light out on the stop paddle, so I had to switch to yet another spare. Quieter, but it's a different make, so all the knobs and switches are in different places. Imagine you always use an iPhone and suddenly they hand you an Android. #SchoolBus

No bailouts. The US should extort these companies when the crash happens so they get minimal compensation in return for nationalizing the entire panopticon industry and then destroying it once harvested for socially useful parts. It won’t happen but it should

There are 50,000 food insecure children in Maine and 2 trans athletes. Every single candidate running for office who can drum up concern about the latter but has nothing to say about the former is telling on themselves. They don’t care about children. Only power. And they’ll hurt kids for it.
