Well, ah, well, that could be a conversation stopper, or possibly starter; anyway, Richard Wells reveals that St Munditia is the patron saint of single women and spinsters, and I reckon there's no one going to badmouth that, especially face to face with St. M.
Within an hour of arriving in Munich I stumbled upon the bejewelled skeleton of Saint Munditia clutching a goblet filled with dried blood, martyred in 310 AD, beheaded with a hatchet. Standard...

Definitely seen. Not forgetting the cat and dog.
Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

Delighted to share an exclusive piece by @drmabibby.bsky.social for patrons only.

It hones in on Newcastle in 1644 - one of the most dramatic years in the city’s history, from the view of Scottish writer William Lithgow who was present at the siege.

Morning!

The Black Bull and its historic lowping stone has been added to the site as its own entry, alongside a dozens of other pubs in the region. This one has been here since at least the 1840s, and perhaps a private dwelling prior.

Not quite as good, but Welsh uses coblyn ("goblin") as an intensifying expletive:

Mae'n goblyn o beth "it's a hell of a thing"
Mynd fel y coblyn "go like the clappers"
Be goblyn?! "What the hell?!"
Goblyn o ddim byd "f*ck all"
TIL that in Irish you can use the word 'demon' as a negative quantifier and it's called "demonic negation" (McCloskey 2009), e.g.
Dheamhan duine a bhuaileann sé.
demon person that hits he
'Not one person does he hit.'

Yes. This.
Positive folklore. The swallows & house martins have arrived & the swifts are on their way. Up until the mid-20thC, they were amongst the few birds whose nests were considered lucky. Even hardened farmers worried about losing them. Time to get that sentiment back.
