The horses were transported in a large trailer and left excrement everywhere. There were multiple large boats and police mobile command centres set up. The police presence was decidedly not climate friendly.

The police have horses on the beach. Horses.

Few shots from the beach. Not sure I have ever been more dissatisfied with policing or state/federal governments decision making than today. Up close look at just a few of the resources police have available and choose to use when instructed by govt on a non violent protest to save the planet.

Walked out to the beach and this is where it gets ridiculous. The police presence is completely over the top. Not where I want my tax dollars going.

I’m down at the Foreshore now. It’s a very peaceful and fun atmosphere. There is a police presence which frankly seems completely unnecessary.

Our local news can talk about shoreline destruction and this weekends Rising Tide protest IN THE SAME PROGRAM and yet not think to link the two issues together.

The “they were just joking!” defence annoys me. Impact > Intent. It was taken as negative and was a downer on my day. Next time say nothing.

Some men won’t recycle because of this thinking. We can’t save the planet bc of a bunch of made up social codes that men for the most part will follow.

Someone is now filing their nails. At this point maybe just get rid of quiet carriages bc this is utterly frustrating. I’d prefer not to labour under the illusion that I’m going to have relative quiet for a few hours. Maybe I’d have been more organised to bring headphones-certainly will next time.

We are back to rage typing and feet on seat after winding up a phone conversation where John was thanked for feedback. If you think it’s not obvious this is a quiet carriage this is on every seat.

Person with feet on seat and taking up 2 other seats with bags is now having a loud phone conversation in the quiet carriage after rage typing on a laptop at a volume I didn’t know was possible. I shouldn’t have bothered moving. 😩
