Why I gave directly to our local food bank.
I was just thinking about contributing to the "charity" Feeding America. Until I discovered that the salary for its CEO, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, was approximately $949,866 in 2024, with her total compensation being $1,113,502. Apparently, feeding America isn't her top priority.

A simple fact. Ashamed our government leaders have allied the United States with Russia. Damn shame.
Poland’s Karol Nawrocki comments on Trump’s peace plan, saying any deal must start with a simple truth — Russia breaks its own agreements. He adds the plan needs Kyiv’s approval and warns that peace cannot come at the price of Moscow’s goals.

Mail-in ballots are secure & essential for military families, seniors, parents, & rural voters.

For decades, Washington has run successful & secure vote-by-mail elections.

Disgusting to see a President take election advice from Putin. Hands off our mail in ballots!

Resistance works. It effects society, economics, it has an impact on the culture that makes democracy a voice that demands actions.

It cost Tesla 125% of revenue.
It forced Disney+ to reinstall Mr. Kimmel when subscriptions were cancelled by the thousands.

YOU have a voice. Resist and be heard.

Trust me that you want avoid getting shingles. Lowering your risk of dementia is just icing on the cake.
If avoiding a painful and disfiguring rash - and potentially permanent nerve pain and nerve damage - isn’t enough for you, multiple studies have also shown that shingles vaccination can lower dementia risk, possibly up to 20%
In the US: If you're 50 or older (or 19/older & immunocompromised), please get vaxxed against shingles. It's no joke.

Using AI to debunk BS.
A terrific AFP fact check uses reverse image searches to expose how a White House video took scenes from Florida, Texas, South Carolina and Nebraska and lied that they showed "Chicago is in chaos."

More than 45% of rural US hospitals operate at a loss. As a result of Trump’s “one big, beautiful bill.” more than 300 rural hospitals are at risk of closing. Flood’s home state of Nebraska is no exception, with 29 hospitals operating in the red.

I know some badass Women Surgeons. Plus I think they have improved the culture in this specialty immensely. So all I can say is “You Go Girls!”
The pilot data is very convincing; almost all the women have been told they can't be a surgeon due to their gender, while none- none!- of the men have.

Days after birth, an infant’s immune system is already busy reacting to exposures. Vaccines administered during the immune system’s early development can establish robust and long-lasting protection. The childhood vaccine series was developed to optimize this protection.
