latino americans who wanted to participate in latino jayvik week identities being mocked and laughed at during this event which was extremely upsetting. someone not speaking the language of a culture that was extremely colonized by multiple parts of the world should not be a reason to mock or

“aesthetics” because they do not live up to YOUR personal standard of being part of their culture is worrying and extremely dismissive of an entire culture and struggles of people that the commenter doesn’t seem to understand and doesn’t want to understand (american latino culture) i saw multiple

it seems i was mistaken on you directly commenting so i apologize for that but this post you liked still is greatly concerning to me considering it is directly disconnecting american latinos to the greater latino community, claiming someone just uses a culture they were brought up in for

i can see how people would be angered by depictions that have been openly discussed and ignored by the fandom at large

as they have stepped into harmful stereotypes with jayce before, the conversations about stillwater jayce being done in bad faith have been very public and i’ve seen quite a few people speak up on it. i think it’s understandable for people to be upset about it!

i don’t think there is a obligation to handle things in private, especially in relation to public work! we can disagree on that, but i think it’s important to be able to call things out publicly. this artist has been talked to about things like this before in my understanding in public
November 28, 2025 at 2:37 AM
americans will be more likely to talk about these biases and its connections to our world and cultures and how that related to arcanes characters and us as people because we know what is being depicted!
November 28, 2025 at 2:33 AM
w a little bit more understanding and willingness to find a way/better method of addressing concerns raised by a community that should have felt welcomed in this event! i think listening to each other and taking in account that because of the biases that American writers for arcane have that
November 28, 2025 at 2:33 AM
from how i saw things pan out i do think a lot of people assumed bad faith in how latino americans were addressing their concerns for the event and i hope people are able to listen to each other
November 28, 2025 at 2:33 AM
i can see how a language specific event would be important to you and other people! i’m glad we agree that it could have been handled better and i do really hope there is more events to highlight latam languages as well as events that include overall latino culture!

down into words but i wanted to make sure i covered everything i wanted to. i’d prefer to keep our conversation public but thank you for asking.
November 28, 2025 at 2:25 AM
i believe this is the comment you are talking about? there seems to be no mention of white americans and cristina’s comment never indicated that it was what you were saying, i’m a little confused on how this relates to what you are telling me now. i apologize for how long i take to put my thoughts
November 28, 2025 at 2:25 AM
i don’t even care if this is causing drama at this point but if you follow any of these people get the fuck away from me
November 28, 2025 at 2:25 AM
system but completely dismissing the concerns seems. bad faith
