My office window on campus.
Methinks neither of us are becoming more tolerant of these arseholes in our old age.

I regularly cycle past this huge gas tank located at Shell Scotford, north east of Fort Saskatchewan. Referred to by Shell as the "Pride Tank".
The UCP permits support for LGBTQ2S+ and EDI principles at an oil refinery, but not at our universities and schools.
Sounds about right.

Just a black bear wandering past my house yesterday morning.
Maybe 2 years old, about 42" high at the shoulder.

Second puncture not even 10 km into a ride. Always the bloody back wheel. Already used my spare tube so phone call for a ride home and I’m done for the day.
And don’t waste your money on “Stan’s puncture sealant” - goop that goes inside your inner tube and seals holes from the inside. Does it f***.

I’m used to teens yelling for more food.
And this one, like most teens, doesn’t seem too picky about what it eats. Here’s the pellet it left on my drive. A mouse and some beetles, all partially digested.
🤮

Security and doorbell cameras picked up a juvenile great horned owl landing on our drive, puking up a pellet and walking over to our front door to scream into the camera microphone demanding more to eat from Mum and Dad.

I've worked in AB for over 30 years and I always thought this "rat-free" thing was all a joke. But it appears that they're serious. 🙄

I noticed the e-mail address provided in the news story, but it's hard to predict to whom e-mails might be directed. So many possibilities ....

Belgian pro cyclist Tim Wellens (UAE Team Emirates XRG) may be forced to withdraw from the Tour de France after cycling too close to some Albertans.

She's certainly preparing a nest, but appears to be fashioning it out of dead pigeons.
These daft pigeons keep landing on the roof of the building close to the falcons' nest. They seem to be blissfully unaware that they are the sole item on the menu.

Both peregrine falcons from the breeding pair enjoying the sun outside my window at work.
The male has attempted to mate several times. She's having none of it!
Makes me think he may have voted conservative and now he's paying the price.

Meanwhile, this is the floor in my U of A office. I haven’t been able to use it for over 2 months as the university tries to scrape together the money to remove asbestos that’s under the floor tiles and do the repairs. We have no money because the fiscally-responsible Marlaina slashed our budget.

Viersen, Cooper, Genuis and others elected by landslides in ‘Berta.
Beyond embarrassing.

Made a wooden square to fit over the top of my outside light, with wires sticking up to deter birds from sitting on my light and making a mess.
So this robin started using the wires to let her weave grass like a wicker basket, with a plan to create the best nest ever.
I had to ask her to leave. 😥

Earlier this evening I almost lost a finger while trying to separate two frozen hot dogs with a fairly blunt, serrated table knife.
It’s still bleeding below the transparent bandage.
Be careful out there folks.

Five weeks since the radiator leak in my UofA office (slow drip for several years) got much worse & forced me out. Exposed asbestos under the floor tiles, furniture wrecked; that's mould on the floor. Possessions currently distributed across 5 rooms and I'm basically working out of a suitcase. (1/3)

This version written by myself and two other poor sods who hoped that common sense might still prevail, shortly before Alberta's last provincial election, in the midst of Smith's election scrutineer scandal.

This week’s report from the “Ivory Tower”.
Radiator pipe leak in my office. Floor tiles peeling up have asbestos underneath. Furniture, walls covered in black mould, strong mould smell. No maintenance for years thx to UCP cuts to UofA budget.
Who does the UCP call to address leaks? Mraiche Plumbing?
