It's not obvious how much work this was from a random screenshot - but in a game based on a 2D grid map it was surprisingly difficult to get the camera to change Y position (height) based on terrain height and move smoothly as the player moves in increments of 10 units per square. #gamedev #drpg

Importing assets into Unity really needs to be a background task. Making it impossible to do any work for more than an hour with a modal dialog box (that can't even be paused!) is just not enjoyable. #unity #gamedev #waitingfordirttoimport

I'm working on some of the basic mechanics for Solward, one of which is stopping character movement when an enemy initiates combat. Before they were stopping wherever, and now they stop at the intersection of a grid square (which I'll later adjust to the center). #gamedev #rpg

This gigantic MetaHuman underwear is just silly. I can't dress a character in shorts and a tank top without having their (non-hideable as far as I know) underwear sticking out from under their clothing. #metahuman #ue5 #unrealengine

An important bit of progress on Solward today - I have characters and enemies loading their meshes and portraits from a data table now, so they're not using the default mannequin anymore and it's a whole lot easier to create a configure them. #gamedev #unreal #tacticalrpg
