Chicago Democrat living in a red state. Retired chemist. Retired tour guide (last job). Introvert, but an’t stand silence in a group
Had a cat who, every Christmas, would watch the tree go up. Just before I finished the ornaments, she would run off & hide. Last thing was the manger. She would come out, lay down in front of it, & protect it the entire Christmas season. Only thing I had to change was NO TINSEL ON THE TREE!

The women’s names weren’t redacted because in the eyes of drumpf & the republicans, only women are responsible for their own rape & suffering. The men were “innocent” victims of the “seduction” of these underage children. These children “knew” that some men can’t help themselves around children.

We have examples of “ICE assaults”. The Congresswoman charged with assault for pushing an ICE agent, which happened after ANOTHER agent pushed her into him.
Ramming a vehicle & claiming the driver ran into them.
Being asked to leave after accidentally being included in a group allowed in.

We ordered via phone once. But we had seen the appliance (new kitchen range) the day before. Couldn’t make up our mind right away, so slept on it. Next day, 15 min, delivered a week later. Didn’t go back next day due to being busy later that day & store is ~60 miles away.

I remember the ‘85 Bears. There was something about the team that was unbelievable. Also, the only team to ever do a brag song BEFORE getting the win AND, then, getting the win. Here’s hoping they do it. My kids deserve to see a win.

Kilroy was here first.

I love long rides, but hubby refuses to let me drive. Wouldn’t mind, but, while I enjoy most music, he insists on playing gospel Bluegrass on Sunday mornings. The rest of the time it’s his favorite country music. What annoys me is he’ll play music I like when I’m not when I’m not with him.

The only Christmas shopping I’ll be doing is to the local liquor store to get my husband his favorite drink. Other than that, no shopping.

Finally, someone who believes the same as I do: leave the peel on. There are exceptions, but it’s only if the peel isn’t edible. So citrus fruits & sweet potatoes are peeled, the rest are fine. Though citrus zest is great.

This is what my 1st grade teacher told my mom after she complained about me reading comic books: “She’s reading, isn’t she?” Who cares if it’s books, manga, or graphic novels, you’re reading & that’s the whole goal.

Yup. Have to agree with you. The fascists have been praying for this.

But they did redact the “victim’s” names. Problem is all sane people are aware that the victims are the children (now women) whereas the Republicans firmly believe that the rapists are the “true victims” & must be protected at all costs.

I remember National! Used to go to the one on Belmont across the alley from Goldblatt’s.

Used Libby’s for years, but the metallic taste & moisture less puree annoyed me. Made my own pumpkin puree for years. Forgot to get some pumpkins, picked up Libby’s to make my pies. This time it looked & tasted like my puree, so back to Libby’s & Pet-Ritz frozen pie crusts.

Fast reader. Most people I know are normal to slow readers. So, I keep my mouth shut as to how long it takes me to read something that took them a week to read. Yes, good recollection of the book even years later. Might need to read a few paragraphs, beginning/middle/end, to jog my memory. Just read

Had to double check this. In 2025 you can feed 10 people compared with 8 in 2024. TBH, not only have they decided generic & fewer items are acceptable, but now you must carefully limit how much each person gets.

That’s Simon.
Alvin is the one in the baseball cap.
Theodore is the chubby one.

The guy that recorded it was fired several days after reporting this to HR. Came out because he sued, I think for unlawful termination or something like that. From what I gathered, maybe management, but not high enough in the pecking order. An executive wouldn’t have reported it to HR.

Like my toast at least 2 steps away from burnt with lots of butter. Then either honey or jam/preserve on it. Makes a great breakfast dessert, especially if the 1st slice was used to mop up the egg yolk. Also good for lunch, dinner, & snack. Think I’ll make some now. 😊

The poster was initially talking about the play (reference to 2010). Nothing to do with black & white or sepia. Too much color muting & using filters to bring down the color palette is in modern movies. Btw, the modern version (1939) was in full color after the Kansas scene then switching back.

Sound like Harcourt “Harry” Mudd. My favorite Trek reprobate. Only on a few times, but you never forget him.

Always love moon pics, but the one on the left is amazing. When I see the moon like this irl, I just stare at it in awe.

Apparently begging for $$ to pay for a honeymoon, down payment for a house, & various other expenses related to the wedding and/or marital bliss has gotten more common. More people are opting to not even go to the wedding due to the cash grab.
