i'd really love to know more about the neuroscience of concentration, like what is it physically doing to your brain, does it put it in a state that you have to sleep your way out of (my hypothesis lol)

i am generally in agreement with OP's assessment that code after ~4 hours is trash, though i have done the occasional binge up to 12 hours (starting in the morning though, never overnight) and the product has been fine, but what those had in common is that there were almost no decisions to make
