What can the @ndp.ca do to *really* reinvent the party?

They could have all 5 candidates form a SHARED PARTY LEADER coalition!

It's so inspiring how the candidates are really stepping up for each other. What's more symbolic of the NDP than working together, everyone bringing their own strengths?

Each candidate has a different demographic that they focus more on, and coming together would just make the party stronger. Decisions can be made democratically between the 5, and the representative speaker can change for each issue that arises in the House of Commons.

Seriously though, the candidates agree on many things. What better way to have party members feel more represented than with multiple voices working together?

You're right, I don't know anything about you. I'm just disappointed that so many people are upset about the MOU and aren't speaking up.
December 2, 2025 at 12:03 AM
Because wait-and-see worked sooo well in the States. Speak up to your MP if you're unhappy and hold Carney accountable. You have more of a voice than just your vote, and criticism doesn't mean you're suddenly supporting the other guy.

These also aren't just my opinions. Many organizations and experts have spoken out on the bills.
December 1, 2025 at 10:46 PM
I know from what's going on in the States that the bills shouldn't be written in a way that can be abused. Future governments could abuse them as well. Also, the "goal" of C9 to prevent hate displays is already covered in other laws, so extenpanding it isn't necessary and is suspect.
December 1, 2025 at 10:46 PM
I agree people shouldn't move the goalposts during debates, I'm saying there are issues in all the areas.

He's decreasing spending on healthcare while allowing the provinces to privatize it, he's giving housing corps tax money to build more where half of new condos sit empty because they're too expensive, without doing anything to bring down the costs, and many of his new investments are with the US.

We are in a climate emergency. He was voted in because people didn't want the Conservatives messing up the environment. Now he's going against his campaign promises, and the promise he made to the Green party a couple weeks ago during the budget talks. The majority of Canadians are against this.
December 1, 2025 at 5:30 PM
By "make it easier" you mean ignore what BC and the First Nations want? Remove environmental restrictions so you can push more fossil fuel centered climate changing projects? You say you care about the environment, but your actions speak differently.

Federal-Alberta MOU risks unravelling Canada’s climate policy
While promised improvements to industrial carbon pricing are positive and important, other aspects of Alberta-Canada MOU will undermine policy effectiveness across the country.

Carney says a lot of things, and then does others. Your own position requires him to be misleading the Alberta government in the MOU, if he truly doesn't think another pipeline is possible.
December 1, 2025 at 5:15 PM
These are from the MOU, the wording says "engage with," not need support, agreement, or consensus.
December 1, 2025 at 4:59 PM
Please link me to where it says it needs approval or support. It only says it needs "consultation." I would love to be proved wrong on this.

He forced the fight attendants back to work breaking the strike, bills C2 and C12 threaten privacy and immigrant rights, and bill C9 can be used to break up most peaceful protests.
December 1, 2025 at 4:42 PM
Carney's learning too many lessons from 47. Lying, secretly supporting Israel, eroding democracy by thinking he should have total control without any checks, destroying environmental restrictions, taking away people's charter rights, and giving billions in taxpayers money to his buddy billionaires.
December 1, 2025 at 6:13 AM
Owned by foreign corporations, employing only about 200 Canadian employees, and paid for by taxpayers dollars. And once it becomes obsolete in a few years or sooner, the billionaire investors will leave.
December 1, 2025 at 1:53 AM
He's not going to do that. Look to the NDP if you want a chance at that.

Position 1: slavery is not morally ethical and should be abolished.
Position 2: slavery is a crucial part of the economy and we will fail without it.
Obviously we need the middle ground. Indentured servitude/less slaves must be the answer, since centrism is always the solution to the two extremes.
December 1, 2025 at 1:46 AM
1. The pipeline doesn't need approval from BC & First Nations.
2. Even without the pipeline, the MOU is horrible for the environment.

3. If you think Carney is being manipulative & misleading, why is that ok and how will you ever trust him to be straightforward?
