#Phoenix saw the temperature reach 59F (15.0C) for the first time this season early this morning. That is the latest first occurrence of such a temperature on record. The old mark was set on November 12, 1988. Records go back to 1895. #azwx

#Phoenix concluded an October that was 0.9F (0.5C) above normal. The big story was rainfall. The 3.26" (82.8 mm) made October 2025 the third wettest October on record. The 3-day total of 2.93" (74.4 mm) during October 10-12 was the highest 3-day amount for any October. #azwx

Despite ongoing La Niña conditions, 2025 recorded the second warmest global temperature on record for October 24th. Nothing has come close to the last three years. Overall, October 2024 ranks third warmest.

During the first two decades of the 21st Century, New York City saw numerous exceptionally snowy winters. These snowy seasons occurred as winters were warming. The data hints that the snowfall explosion may have marked the early stages of a transition toward lower snowfall. #nywx #Climate
