Posted here are politically relevant notes to myself, publicly available. Apolitical is political; no one is beyond politics, or history. And physics is not a good lens through which to view social reality.
Russia's reflexive control is operating very smoothly these days.

MAGA people can easily be nudged in this kind of direction.

If you are the Pope, indeed if you are Christian of any rank, you must believe in crazy shit, much of which is sheer bigotry, i.e., malevolent and inexcusable. It is fundamental to being Christian, all the more so being Catholic.

Isn't America Great already?

Everyone who voted for Trump owns this shit. They did this, and much worse, and much worse yet to come. Republicans did this. Not one of them has any excuse for what they did — they voted for Trump out of sheer stupidity and/or assholery.

The Russians are hilarious with their "Nazi ideology", the kind of thing a halfwit schoolyard bully would come up with. And they are really showing up the Trump regime as a bunch of malignant clowns of the first order.

Republicans and Republicans alone, which absolutely includes every single person who voted for Trump, did this. The own it. But they will not reckon with the awful thing the wrought — and no doubt much worse is yet to come — because (1) cowardice, (2) they're just fine with it.

Putin would like to get strategically important parts of UKR by making a "deal" with Trump. Then he'll take the rest more easily than would otherwise be the case. This kind of thing happened before: the Mnichovská zrada.

Of course animals have consciousness. Arrogantly presuming they don't is a choice, an intentionally unexamined excuse so that humans can exploit, abuse, and eat them.

And of course "it is particularly evident in Republican circles".

Bingo! "Russia clearly does not want the war to end." And the "peace plan" which is the opposite of a peace plan helps ensure that.
November 23, 2025 at 7:10 AM
The pact is very much Molotov-Ribbentrop, with a twist. MR was nominally the agreed destruction & carving up of Poland and the Baltic states through NAZI-Soviet collusion. It was also the NAZIs hoodwinking the Soviets, as their game all along was to colonize much of western USSR — hence Barbarossa.

Everyone who voted for Trump voted for this and much much worse. This image speaks to the identity of every single one of these people, whether they acknowledge it or not. And they should reckon with that — but they won't because being cowards and frauds is also part of their identity.

But the USA under Trump is working to support Russia — to help Russia destroy Ukraine.

It took me a minute to figure out what the fuck "*ss" was. Ah! The great HCR (whom I adore) does this sort of thing all the time! The '*' is 'a': "ass", duh. Oh for fuck's sake!

The author, Jonathan Haidt, a social psychologist at NYU Stern School of Business, clearly has no idea that one side only — the Republican/Conservative/Red/MAGA one — is profoundly dishonest/delusional/ignorant/fearful/vengeful etc. It could be that his professional status requires such stupidity.
