Donald Knuth: Mastermind (algorithm solver — what most people now know as Wordle)
Essentially what Donald Knuth argued in the March 1998 issue of the Notices of the American Mathematical Society. His letter is reproduced here:

To prove the power rule for derivatives, you don't need the full binomial theorem, just that

(x+h)ⁿ = xⁿ + nxⁿ⁻¹h + O(h²).

I think that's a much easier sell!

Finally broke down and picked up the base M4 Mac Mini. I've been lifelong windows. The device integration is what sold me and whoo it's amazing. Great value product so far, now it's time to push it.

I used to be obsessed with #energy and #sustainability in the 2010s and dove deep into the subject back then. I co-wrote 3 books on the subject. My last one on energy efficiency was picked up by Elsevier. I always thought it was priced to never sell. Oh well. shop.elsevier.com/books/energy...
