My new research article about Australian audience reactions to Tales of the City in the 1990s has been published. While there were negative reactions, the positive responses far outweighed them! It was exciting to see this moment in our history.

I hope the forthcoming book (Routledge) will help people better understand production culture, what it takes to get queer stories onscreen, and inform the approaches taken by those entering screen industries in Australia and in other markets to tell queer stories in the future.

This PhD was for me. It was about my passion for - my obsession with - the queer stories we see in television and wanting to know how they got there.

There has been a backsliding of LGBTIQ+ support in corporate and public discourse in recent years, and I think it is quite stark how familiar these old debates feel today.
