"The hundreds of billions of dollars companies are investing in AI now account for an astonishing 40 per cent share of US GDP growth this year... In a way, then, America has become one big bet on AI."
America is now one big bet on AI
It’s seen as the magic fix for every threat to the US economy

If we as a society (and as individuals) believe that we have a say in the evolution of AI, we have to talk about Sora openly. It's not going to get regulated away, the research is indeed valuable towards AGI, but people need to vote with their eyeballs on the app. My vote is I don't want that app.

After a summer in Japan you realize how god awful the @mbta.com bus system is. Google and ProximiT and the mbta published schedules all have different times and none of them match the actual bus.

I thought Boston was the land of traffic, but it has nothing on Oahu. Not again, no thanks.

So #Tesla 2020 MX has a failure mode where the connection with the door gets corroded and makes the door open violently enough to put holes in walls. $1k+ to fix. How in the heck is this not a recall @ntsb-bot.bsky.social ?

Yo @gcp-incidents.bsky.social your status page is broken.

While status.cloud.google.com says it's healthy, I assure you it is not.

So if there's an ICE raid that yields a number of arrests from a meat packing plant, are they also arresting the people that hired them?

I generally support the idea of taking pharma ads off of tv, but oh my god would it crush the media industry. It’s like 75% of ads every day.

@gcp-incidents.bsky.social central is having either DNS trouble or global troubles - sqladmin, pod monitoring, secret manager... Many things failing.

This is like a comedy. I thought #Aetna was supposed to be one of the better insurance providers? This stuff has class action written all over it.

Is 0.47 of @cursor.com.web.brid.gy hanging after a few seconds for many people? Only happens to certain projects, but I've removed extensions and still failing.

Submitting an app to the Google Play store is like guessing a number between 1 and 100, except it takes 2 days to get an answer, and it's not "higher" or "lower" it's "nope."

#Celtics #Lakers wow. What an incredibly high level half of basketball.

Hey Google Cloud you broke CloudSQL. And the only option is to pay you to fix the thing you broke?

If you ever wondered how SkyNet happened, this is a look at one way. Somewhere, someone is making the case that we can get rid of 90% of government employees and replace them with AI. With a straight face.

That really felt like an earthquake in #boston... Fureal?

The doomsday clock has moved closer to midnight, even if they don’t say so just yet. Irrational actors control the majority of the nuclear weapons in the world.

This AI government program feels less “moon landing” and more “farm subsidy.” The market is already doing what it does well for AI and the payback is almost immediate.

Celtics lose a few more and I bet the front office has to make a move. I have no idea what that move is though.
