My mom got me a subscription for this TIME Life Mysteries of the Unknown series when I was a kid. We didn't collect the whole set, but I had over a dozen books and read them ALL the time.

In fact, I'll do ya one better @ryanhowse.bsky.social: Fighting Fantasy's Clash of Princes books were a two-player gamebook experience featuring PvP & flying airships that allowed you to travel anywhere you wanted. Extremely ambitious, hard to play, but oh so inspirational — gave me tons of ideas!

Picked up Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix at the library today. Funny, I never knew it was an IKEA gag. The book is pretty, almost coffee table book material. My first Hendrix novel ... I've seen a lot of mediocre reviews actually, but I dig campy horror so let's give it a shot! 🙂

Just started the audiobook for Daisy Jones & the Six, and HOLY CRAP they have different voice actors for every single side character. Such a cool presentation!

Was recommended to read Italo Calvino by an author I respect, so I picked up "Six Memos for the New Millennium" at the library today. Not his fiction, but rather a collection of five literary theory essays about what qualities Calvino sees defining literature in the new century. Interesting stuff!
