The Galaxy Express 999 TV series is one of the big adventure classics.
The adventures of Tetsuro & Maetel on that train flying through space is full of character & adventure, and often swings hard on the drama.

It meshes drama, comedy, musical sequences, claymation, & horror together in a way that shouldn't work, but absolutely does.
