Deshalb sind sie dann auch so interessant - es ist zwar an Mädchen gerichtet, aber ich würde sagen, dass der Male Gaze noch dabei ganz stark präsent ist. M.E. gibt es schon ne Vielzahl an Forschungen zu nicht-Flash Spiele unter feministischen Ansätze. Aber Flash + Feminismus? Kenn ich leider nicht 😕

Das rangiert dann zwischen den von @jbirken.bsky.social erwähnten QWOP bis hin zu Flash Dating-Simulator (die in sich selbst softcore Pornografie ist - und hier m.E. die Vorgängern von HuniePop) bis hin zu 'bekannteren' Titel mit re-releases wie die "The Last Stand"-Serie, Warfare 1917 & 1944 usw..

Late to the Party (16 Tage - was??) aber ich muss nachschauen ob es ein Papier gibt zum Flash Gaming als Phänomen im Allgemeinen, da m.E. diese wirklich ein halbwegs legaler Weg für nicht westlichen Spieler*innen, eine breite Auswahl an Spielen zu spielen.

and historically (especially South East Asian history) charged games, check it out. As I've probably mentioned, it speaks about a part of South East Asian history very few games have yet tried to tackle. And even if we're still far away from its 1.0, kudos to the studio for at least attempting 17/x

Also last but not least. The visuals. Which I'd describe as Wes-Anderson-ish. At first glance it's colorful, yet at the same time somewhat saturated whilst all along hiding a more contemplative meaning in its storytelling.

You'll meet a plethora of characters with characteristics that tells their ideals, thoughts, situations etc., which at the end of the day you'll have to contend with. They and their situations adds a layer of narrative that complicates the relationship between the state and the individual. 15/x
